House of Supported Living

Everyone has the right to a home — not just a roof over their head, but a space where they are respected, heard, and supported.

A Home of Supported Living is being created for people with disabilities who want to live independently, make their own decisions, and be active members of their communities. It will resemble a home both structurally and functionally, serving as an alternative to geriatric centers and neuropsychiatric institutions.

This is the first such home in Ukraine, owned by the Lviv community and funded from its local budget. It is our example of a new standard of social services.

Who do we support?

The House welcomes:

-adults (18+) with disabilities
-individuals who have lost parents or guardians
-internally displaced persons and veterans with disabilities

How do we help?

Up to 20 residents live in the House, supported by a dedicated team:

-live-in assistants who offer help with daily tasks
-social workers
-a manager-administrator

Most importantly — we won’t do everything for a person. We’ll be there when needed and help with what’s truly difficult.

Residents are involved in planning their daily routines, have personal space, make decisions, and are active in community life. This is about dignity, autonomy, and meaningful support.

In addition to living in the House, residents may also access:

-day care services
-employment support
-social adaptation

The House of Supported Living is more than a place to stay — it’s a home where every person has the right to belong and to live fully.
