Every child deserves to grow up in love, care, and safety. At Dzherelo Centre, we support families who have opened their hearts to children who, for various reasons, cannot live with their biological parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are foster families, family-type children\u2019s homes, guardians, and caregivers \u2014 people who give children a second chance at a happy childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our social work professionals provide support and guidance to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Foster Family<\/strong> Family-Type Children\u2019s Home (FTCH)<\/strong> Guardianship and Custodianship<\/strong> Guardians may be grandparents, siblings, or other relatives \u2014 the key is that the child receives care and stability. Guardians receive financial support and are responsible for reporting on expenditures related to the child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are there every step of the way \u2014 from the very beginning and throughout the journey:<\/p>\n\n\n\n We believe that together with you, we can make every child\u2019s childhood warm and joyful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dzherelo specialists work closely with the Children\u2019s Services Department. When a new foster family, FTCH, or guardianship arrangement is created, we become part of the process and provide comprehensive support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To learn more or to explore one of the care options: We provide social support at the family\u2019s place of residence. A family or individual who takes in 1\u20134 orphaned children or children deprived of parental care. Children live with the family until the age of 18 or until they complete their education. The state provides financial assistance to the foster parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A family or individual who raises 5 or more children (maximum 10 including biological children). Children live in the home until they reach adulthood or finish their education. State financial support is also provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guardianship applies to children under the age of 14.
